Camping and Hiking

Carson and I FINALLY got to go camping. We always say that we are going to go but things never work out, so this was very exciting for the two of us. We went up Cove canyon in Richmond and found the best spot ever. Close to both the restrooms and the trail head, and it was right next to the river; I love camping near water. Anyway, after setting up our tents, Carson and I, along with Carson's brother Todd and some friends, Kendall and Vanessa, enjoyed some yummy tinfoil dinners and peach cobbler. We (Vanessa and I) then spent the rest of the evening watching the boys attempt to climb a huge rock. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but after about an hour and a half it got a little old. After about two hours of boldering, the boys finally decided to join their wives for some campfire talk and s'mores (my favorite part). The next morning we woke up early and set out on the hike. If I would have known then that we were embarking on a 5 hour hike I would not have participated, nor would have anyone except Carson and maybe Todd. But it turned out to be a lot of fun and a way good workout! We hope to go camping more often in the future because we both love it so much.
Carson and I enjoying our first camping trip of the summer. Too bad it's already July.
Our small camping group. Don't we all just look so happy to be there.
Carson and Kendall attempting to climb the large rock near our campground. You're lucky we got this picture before they took their shirts off.
Vanessa and I sitting atop the large rock, watching the boys make fools out of themselves. I think I was still enjoying it at this point.

Carson and I on the hike. It really was beautiful up there.
Carson loves doing tricks off stationary objects and he thinks he's really cool when he does it. Notice how nobody cares because they are all leaving?

Sorry we couldn't get together while I was in Idaho. I wish I had a car so I could have come to the Campbell house. I like to keep up on what's going on with everyone. If you have a second check out our blog.

Fun times! I'm glad you finally got to go camping. Eric and I have only been once this summer too... it's crazy how busy this summer has been. How did your classes go? We will be back up there this Fall. So... since we won't have as many classes together this next year, looks like I'll have to use you as a babysitter. j/k
