Hiking the Wellsvilles

Carson and I hiked the Wellsville Mountains along with some of his family members (Todd, Tyson, Chazel, and Kaylee). We had a lot of fun. It was a challenging hike, but well worth it. The view was awesome!

On the way up we ran into this little guy. He was so happy to see us that he started shaking his rattler at us. I seriously about turned around and went home. Nobody told me that there are rattle snakes in Wellsville. SCARY! The boys picked him up with a very long stick and softly THREW him off the side of the cliff. We then ran into another one on the way down the trail. The boys moved it before the girls saw it so we wouldn't freak out. Good thing because I would have. I hate snakes and the way that they slither around.

Me, Chazel and Kaylee at the top. FINALLY! The wind was blowing like 90 miles an hour, but it felt nice due to the fact that it was scorching hot.

The top 1/4 of the mountain was still covered in snow so on the way down we slid on our feet. This form of transportation was much quicker and a lot funner. It became scary when you began to slide very fast and there was nothing more to do than try to stay upright.

If you have not done this hike I totally recommend it. Watch out for snakes though :)

Yikes! Shane has been trying to get me to hike it with him, but now that I know there are snakes...I don't know!

Now this looks like a riot. I am totally jealous. How long did this take you guys? I definitely need to talk brad into doing this with me before we move.

Wow! That looks like a lot of fun but I am not a big fan of snakes. The view looks beautiful though!

That is a great view! I would be nervous about seeing rattle snakes too! You guys have a lot of active fun!

I admire you for continuing the hike after seeing the snake -- I for one would have turned around and run for home! It was great seeing you again the other day!

What a great hike! I hope I never find a "little guy" like that on a hike!

I ran into your blog looking at other friends' blogs from our old ward. It's fun to see what you've been up to. Hope all is well!
