Okay so I have been such a slacker at posting on my blog so now I have a ton to catch up on.
At the end of April I got the wonderful opportunity to go to New York! For those of you who know me, you know that I LOVE New York. I went to school there when I was sixteen years old and fell in love with the area. I had not been back so this trip was great! I went with just my wonderful grandaprents and we had a great trip. It was so nice because we did so much but yet had a very relaxing trip. We went to China town, Little Italy, Ground Zero, SOHO, etc. I spent way too much money and ate way too many calories, but walked a lot of miles. On the third day, my grandma took her podometer to see how much we would walk and at the end of the day the little machine registered 14.7 miles. That is quite a bit when you consider who I was with. Another fun thing that we got to experience while in the wonderful city of New York was seeing the Pope of the Catholic church. We had no idea he was there that week and we saw all these people lined up on the street, so we asked somebody what was going on and they kind of gave us a stupid look and told us that the Pope was in town. So later on we found out that he was staying near our hotel and everytime he left his hotel they would block off the entire street. The street that they blocked off was the street right in front of our hotel so we got to see him and his entire entourage a few times. I can now truthfully say that I have seen the Pope. All in all it was a fun time and I really did not want to come home.
I am not exactly sure what bridge this is as there are many in that city, but this is the view from my hotel window.
The pope is sitting in the back seat of this limo. No lie I swear!
The Pope's entourage that went with him everywhere. There were like 10 limos, 5 army trucks full of guys holding huge guns, a million police officers in cars and on bikes, and a million other black vehicles with dark windows. It was incredible.
Grandma and I on our way to go shopping! I was impressed at how well the city looked. Flowers everywhere and clean streets.
